Golden Spring from Adagio

Scent in tin: Malty & sweet
Ratio: 1 tsp. to 12 oz. water
Steeped: 5 min. @ 212 degrees The dry leaves of this tea resemble tiny black and gold curled ribbons that are very pleasing to the eye. The scent is sweet but very light until the leaves are brewed. The liquor is surprisingly dark and rather opague, given the astringency left on the tongue.

The brew smells wonderfully malty and leads one to expect a full-flavored treat. Unfortunatly, the taste is rather unremarkable, aside from a hint of pepper to spice it up just a little. The texture is bold, and carries a somewhat cocoa-like aftertaste, but not enough to really give the tea any sort of notoriety.

It's a very straightforward and unassuming cup, bold and smooth enough to wake up with, but not really flush with any extraneous flavors.
