Administrative Note, and Growing Tea

I know, it's been awhile! I apologize for my tardiness, but there's been a lot going on in the last few weeks, and I've been trying to "drink down" my tea stash a bit before buying more. Needless to say, that "leaves" me without new teas to try or review.

In any case, I'll probably extend my "break" for the rest of this week, and next Monday, as my husband will be going in for surgery then. Things should settle down a little after that, and I can get back to the simple, enjoyable things in life, like drinking tea, and reviewing it for you. :-)

In the meantime, as I am busily planting seeds and watching the little seedlings growing in my humble greenhouse for lovely flowers and crops this fall, I'm wondering if anyone out there has tried to grow a tea plant. I'm going to be adding a lemon tree to my houseplant family this summer, along with a stevia plant, and it made me wonder what it takes to grow a tea bush, either indoors, in a greenhouse, or outside. I'll be doing some research on this, but I do hope some of you will chime in with your thoughts on what it would be like to grow your own tea.

Until next week, happy drinking, and thank you for your patience.

  1. Hello, from one garden and tea lover to another! I have not tried to grow a tea plant, but I know that different varietals prefer differing conditions. I think the Charleston Tea Plantation has baby tea plants for sale. You might contact them for advice. :-) And do keep us updated!
